For workers

Your rate

  • After 10 completed shifts, you can send the venue's rate or your own. Your own rate starts from Settings, and a change is for this shift only.
  • If the venue rate is below your saved rate, you tick to agree.
  • Under 10 completed shifts, you can apply only at the venue rate, and only when that rate is at least your saved rate.
  • On an open-for-offer shift, any worker can send an hourly offer. It does not change the saved rate, and the under-10 rule does not apply.

What a venue sees

  • Reliability, quality, and attitude, each on its own, after 5 reviews.
  • How many venues would hire you again.
  • Shifts completed and no-shows. Not your cancellations.
  • The experience you wrote. Shift123 does not check it.

Cancel

  • Until 24 hours before the start, cancel leaves no mark.
  • Inside 24 hours you can still cancel. It counts on your record. It is not a no-show.
  • After the shift starts, cancel is gone.
  • If the venue cancels 24 hours or more before the start, you are not paid and it leaves no mark.
  • If the venue cancels inside 24 hours, you are paid 2 hours at the booked rate, minus the 1% commission (none on your first 2 confirms).
  • After the shift starts, the venue cannot cancel. They close the shift or mark a no-show.

No-show

  • A venue can mark a no-show from 45 minutes after the start.
  • You have 24 hours to dispute it with a photo or other evidence.
  • The first no-show that stands is a count only.
  • A second suspends the account for 1 month. The lock is your email, SI number, and government ID.

Closing a shift

  • When the booked end time passes, you get a notification to mark the shift done and add any overtime.
  • If the venue does nothing in 12 hours, the shift completes for the booked hours plus up to 1 overtime hour.
  • Your pay is those hours minus the 1% commission (none on your first 2 confirms).

For venues

Your record

  • Your ratings, reviews and shift history belong to your company (HE number, employer registration, company name). A new account does not reset them.

Cancel

  • You can cancel before anyone is confirmed. Workers who applied are notified. There is no card hold and no fee. That does not mark your record.
  • You can cancel a confirmed booking until the shift starts. It does not mark your record.
  • 24 hours or more before the start, the hold is released and there is no fee. The worker is notified.
  • Inside 24 hours, the worker is paid 2 hours at the booked rate. Your 9% fee applies on that amount, or 0% inside your first 2 free confirms. That amount is taken from the card hold.
  • After the shift starts, cancel is not available. Close the shift or mark a no-show.

No-show

  • You can mark a no-show from 45 minutes after the start.
  • The hold stays until the worker accepts, 24 hours pass with no reply, or support decides the dispute. Email support@shift123.app.
  • Evidence does not release the hold and does not decide the dispute.

Closing a shift

After the booked end time, you have 12 hours to close the shift. If you and the worker both do nothing, only the booked hours plus the 9% fee (after your first 2 free confirms) are charged, and the overtime hour in your hold is released. You only pay overtime if the worker logs it and you accept it, or you don't reply within the 12 hours. Hours past the first overtime hour are never charged unless you accept them.

Card hold

  • Your card is held 7 days before the shift, or at confirm if sooner. Nothing is taken when you post.
  • The hold is booked hours + 1 overtime hour + 9% (no fee on your first 2 shifts that count).
  • On an open-for-offer shift, those hours use the offer you accept. Nothing is held when you post.
  • After the shift you pay only the hours worked plus 9%. The rest is released. A cancel inside 24 hours takes the compensation from that hold instead.
